Social Media / Email Marketing Paid Intern

Commitment: 15-20 hours per week

Tinkercast is looking for part-time intern support to help grow and refine our social media presence
on our existing Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts and support build out and activation on
new channels including YouTube and TikTok. This position will report to the Head of Brand @
Tinkercast and work closely with Tinkercast’s Marketing & Communications Manager.

Responsibilities:
● Work with Tinkercast’s Marketing team to execute on social media and email marketing
strategies
● Support activation of Tinkercast’s social media channels including creation of content for all
of Tinkercast’s current and future social media channels
● Develop social content inclusive of copy and visuals
● Support build out / maintenance of Tinkercast’s new YouTube channel (Fall 2022 launch)
● Research social trends, hashtags, shareable content (i.e. videos, science news, etc.) to
incorporate into Tinkercast’s social media content
● Research, plan and implement social media outreach campaigns around Tinkercast
content including but not limited to podcast launches, book releases, events, etc.
● Monitoring audience responses on social media channels to increase brand engagement
and identifying necessary follow up to Tinkercast Marketing team
● Collect performance and engagement data from Tinkercast’s social media and email
outreach using MailChimp and HootSuite platforms
● Contribute to creation of quarterly marketing reports for Tinkercast leadership
● Support creation of an editorial calendar for Tinkercast’s email outreach
● Support copy development for Tinkercast monthly emails

We’re looking for…
– Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write in brand voice
– Self-starter who can work independently
– Previous internship in social media, communications, or PR preferred

– Strong interest in social media, trends, email marketing, and understanding audiences
– Experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or social media graphic design
– Passion / experience in children’s media
– A desire to grow and WOW!
