Senior Marketing Manager

HarperCollins Children’s Books is seeking a creative, organized, and dynamic Senior Marketing Manager to spearhead lead title-specific marketing campaigns for a wide variety of early reader books and brands. Duties include managing budgets, developing and executing marketing plans, presenting at internal and external meetings, and partnering with Marketing Director on overall age group strategy and initiatives.  This role will also oversee the Marketing Associate for the team. The role requires a detail and solutions-oriented, creative, proactive, positive professional able to multi-task, set priorities, and manage a multitude of complex projects, plus an ability to work in a fast-paced environment on an outgoing, dynamic, fun team.

Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm, develop, and execute all aspects of marketing campaigns for key titles and brands.
  • Effectively communicate plans and strategies to in-house team, including editorial and sales.
  • Develop product positioning and brand messaging, utilizing digital as well as traditional media.
  • Work closely with authors and agents on marketing initiatives.
  • Manage and collaborate daily with digital team in developing marketing strategies and online content.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Directors and other team members to shape overall early reader title strategy and to execute larger initiatives.
  • Oversee Marketing Associate, including managing priorities and workload, plus overall career development.
  • Occasional travel to represent HarperCollins at consumer and trade festivals.
  • Review and share post-mortem analysis of each measurable campaign for future opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5-6+ years of experience in trade book marketing and/or kids’ product marketing; children’s book experience preferred (with early reader experience a plus)
  • Experience working on compelling campaigns to reach a consumer audience
  • Excellent project management, communication, budget management, organizational, prioritization and presentation skills a must
  • Excellent writing skills, including ability to write in a voice appealing to parents and gatekeepers
  • Comfortable presenting in front of large groups
  • Bachelor’s degree, proficient in Microsoft Office; social media knowledge and skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across the division and within the company

This role is currently based out of New York, New York. You will need to commute to the office when it reopens.
