Tour Puppet Wrangler
Job Description
Rockefeller Productions is looking for a puppet wrangler to be responsible for the upkeep and safety of our puppets while on stage and on tour. We have several upcoming tours going out fall of 2022. Candidate would be chosen for either Sesame Street, The Musical tour or Disney’s Winnie The Pooh; The New Musical Stage Adaptation, tour. $875/wk + per diem while traveling. Hotel/Housing provided while on tour.

Tour Wrangler duties include: ~ Checking all puppets before each performance or press appearance to make sure they are looking their best. ~ Connecting with the puppeteers and stage manager after each show about any potential puppet needs or issues. ~ Troubleshooting and performing repairs on puppets and props as needed. ~ Spot cleaning puppets as needed. ~ Ensuring that all puppets are being packed, stored, and transported safely. ~ Coordinating with the original puppet shop for any major repairs or issues.
Required Skills: ~ Hand and Machine sewing ~ Foam Patterning and Assembly ~ Comfortable with Hand Tools and Power Tools ~ Painting ~ Detail oriented ~ Organized ~ Team Player
Local PUPPET BUILDER(S) Rockefeller Productions is currently seeking experienced theatrical Puppet Builders to fabricate small and large-scale characters for live theater at our Queens, New York City-based facility. Applicants should be self-motivated, organized and have a positive attitude. An acute attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team are essential. Applicants will be required to work on precise components of a design while simultaneously maintaining an understanding if the whole project. Experience working in a shop environment is preferred. This position is open to those with a background in theater, puppets, props, set-building, costumes, or fine arts. We are a fully vaccinated shop.
