FableVision Studios is looking for an experienced Producer, passionate about creating engaging media that inspire, teach, and move people to action. FableVision Studios (fablevisionstudios.com) creates award-winning websites, games, animated films, museum kiosks, and apps. Our media, storytelling, and technology solutions allow us to collaborate with publishers, broadcasters, museums, research groups, foundations, and educational institutions. Our collaborators include PBS, The Jim Henson Company, Nick Jr., Smithsonian, MIT, and National Geographic Society. FableVision is dedicated to helping all learners reach their full potential and to telling “stories that matter, stories that move.”

 Job Summary

The Producer is responsible for the management of multiple client projects from the pitch stage through to completion. You will lead and manage multi-faceted creative and technical teams, helping deliver client satisfaction, quality of service, and on-time and on-budget deliverables. You will be working on a wide range of small and large-scale interactive and linear media projects simultaneously. You will be the main contact with the clients, the caretaker of projects, and the leader of the project teams. The Producer reports to the Executive Producer.

 Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience.

  • Excellent project management skills and experience in leading project teams.
  • Proven track record in delivering high-quality interactive games, websites, apps, and animation.
  • Demonstrable client and stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience and passion for children’s media and/or educational media production.
  • Strong organization, collaboration, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and retain attention to detail.

 Job Detail

The Producer has the following principle responsibilities.

  • Communicate directly with FableVision clients to determine project needs and set up communications in a way that best matches those needs.
  • Manage staff and freelance team members consisting of creative directors, writers, instructional designers, artists, animators, technical directors, developers, sound designers, and others as needed to best match the goals of the project. 
  • Create a detailed project schedule and update it throughout the project.
  • Supervise the creation of all assets, and take responsibility for their completion on time, on budget, and in a manner fulfilling the creative vision of the project.
  • Review and approve all assets, builds, and deliverables.
  • Work with the Executive Producer to finalize budgets for the project.
  • Work with the Executive Producer to negotiate the fees and contracts for outside contractors including talent.
  • Utilize FableVision’s tracking tools to review actual hours and costs, and recommend solutions for deviations from the budget and schedule.
  • Manage the QA process and supervise the QA team. 
  • Arrange usability and pedagogical testing as necessary and incorporate results within the existing budget and schedule. 
  • Archive project assets at the completion of development.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of FableVision processes and tools.

 The Producer will be expected to use the following tools.

  • Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Calendar
  • Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Basecamp
  • Smartsheet
  • Trello
  • FV Metavision – customized timesheets program
  • Version control – Git

 The Producer will be expected to be familiar with:

  • Educational gaming
  • Web development 
  • Mobile app development 
  • Content Management Systems
