Physical Production Coordinator, Sony Pictures Animation

The Physical Production Coordinator supports the overhead department. This department supervises all aspects of animation from development, production, to post production in conjunction with studio executives and operational groups like facilities, technology, finance, marketing, publicity, business affairs, legal and artist management. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to learn about the animation production process and grow in the physical production or production departments.

Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and schedule meetings.
  • Attend development meetings and take notes.
  • Coordinate travel for production.
  • Manage and complete expense reports.
  • Order office supplies for the department.
  • Answer phone calls including checking messages, rolling calls, keeping phone logs and prioritizing call backs.
  • Provide backup assistance and coverage for other coordinators as needed.
  • Special projects for studio operational groups as needed.
  • Foster trusting and open relationships with productions.
  • Keep supervisors informed by providing accurate and timely information.
  • Serve as a liaison to connect and provide information between internal and external groups.
  • Gather, maintain, distribute documentation and resources.
  • Under guidance of the Director of Physical Production, assist in maintaining project schedules, studio presentations, and staffing templates.
  • Help establish policies and standards for onboarding and training administrative assistants and coordinators.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA or BS degree preferred.
  • Previous animation office or production experience.
  • Highly organized, resourceful and dependable with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Good follow-through on projects.
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a target date oriented department.
  • Willing to take direction and also take the initiative where applicable.
  • Able to work independently and set appropriate priorities.
  • Able to maintain a high level of discretion.
  • Ability to work with both in-person and remote groups.
  • Computer and technology literate – familiarity with Mac/PC operating systems, Photoshop, Word, Excel, and Google Suite.
