Did you know that the Children’s Media Association (CMA) is an entirely volunteer-run organization. We’re looking for several awesome volunteers to help us and support the national Board as well as our NY, LA, and Bay Area chapters. As all events, meetings, and activities currently are running virtually, we welcome anyone interested in volunteering regardless of location. We want YOU to join CMA!

Director of Digital

Reporting to and in partnership with the President, the Digital Director will lead a team to manage and expand upon the digital content offerings for CMA National, its chapters and prospective digital members, including but not limited to the CMA website, blog, and YouTube channels. . 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage volunteer coordinators to execute web content, livestream production, video, and blogs 
  • Manage all web page content 
  • Oversee digital event team, tasked with event livestream with single and dual feeds 
  • Support Editorial Team for event video capture, edit and upload for public and exclusive content 
  • Establish content management best practices for YouTube channel, including naming conventions and description for search engine optimization 
  • Handle tech support on CMA WordPress blog 
  • Act as liaison with our web developer,, to troubleshoot issues that arise
  • Provide technical support with domain name servers, and administrate CMA’s Google Apps / G Suite account 
  • Train other Officers and Coordinators on CMA’s apps, website, and other systems as needed 
  • Attend meetings as required 

  

Director of Growth

Reporting to and in partnership with the Vice President, this position will be responsible for the collection of data that will enable CMA to make important decisions moving forward.

  • Work with CMA’s digital team to secure data to run reports on member enrollment, member retention, marketing performance, etc.
  • Provide end-of-month reports to CMA National and CMA Chapters. 
  • Support Editorial Team for event video capture, edit and upload for public and exclusive content 
  • Attend meetings as required 

Director of Marketing and Communications

Reporting to and in partnership with the President, the Director of Marketing and Communications will oversee the promotion of CMA and all content in collaboration with Digital Content, Events and Membership teams. The Director will build and expand the communications reach of the organization via web, email, print, and social media, while maintaining CMA National and its chapters’ brand identity across all platforms.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a unified CMA marketing and communications strategy that promotes CMA to multiple audiences
  • Develop and maintain promotional materials and partnerships with CMA officers, industry organizations, and sponsors
  • Ensure the continuity of brand image and tone across web, email and print web materials for CMA events and communications
  • Oversee the Social Media Coordinator in the maintenance of CMA social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin), the Design Coordinator in the implementation of branding, and the Newsletter Coordinator in the creation of the monthly newsletter
  • Increase brand awareness of CMA through social media, ads and other avenues
  • Track and respond to platform trends across CMA web, social media, and newsletters
  • Draft and disseminate press releases to targeted channels as needed
  • Perform all other duties of a CMA officer including attending officer meetings, attending events as needed, and participating in communications between officers as needed

Community Voice Manager

Reporting to and in partnership with the National Director of Membership, the Community Voice Manager will create, post and interpret community surveys to provide a snapshot of current CMA membership. They will also be responsible for creating, circulating and evaluating post-event surveys.

  • collecting survey data that will enable CMA to make important decisions about its community
  • Provide end-of-month reports to CMA National Director of Membership

Mentorship Manager

This position reports to the National Director of Membership. They will manage the mentorship program in its current iteration and develop ongoing mini-mentorships to serve the community year-round. The manager will invite children’s media professionals within CMA and outside of our community to lend their expertise to the program and to reinforce the CMA mission to connect all sectors of children’s media.

  • Manage a team of coordinators to assist in running program
  • manage database of mentors and mentees including bios and headshots
  • maintain and update resource booklet when necessary

CMA Connect Manager

The Connect Manager will report and collaborate with the Director of National Membership to connect members through our monthly networking event, CMA Connects. 

  • Manage and produce monthly events
  • schedule event topics for the year
  • run tech for the virtual event
  • share hosting responsibilities with regional hosts for each “Connect”
  • facilitate connections among members through supporting website and online spaces. 

Director of Marketing and Communications

How would you like to join an organization where your skill set could be used to bring awaraness of children’s media content and events to the Los Angeles area?

CMA Los Angeles is looking for a new Director of Marketing to drive marketing campaigns, grow the CMA LA social media community and oversee a team of dedicated graphic, writing and marketing coordinators.

President

Are you an entrepreneurial leader and strategic systems thinker? Does the idea of building a team, creatively tackle questions and challenges, and thinking of ways to reach new audiences all get you excited? Are you based in the Bay Area with networks connecting you to the tech sector and the work it is doing for kids and families? Then you might just be the right person to serve as the Bay Area chapter’s third President! 

The chapter President supervises the general affairs of CMA Bay Area and works closely with the National President and the CMA-BA Chapter Board of Officers to set and meet organizational goals. Serving as the face of the CMA BA chapter, the President maintains and leads the development of new chapter programming, local event sponsorships, and the development of the chapter leadership. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop chapter-wide goals and objectives
  • Coach and manage Chapter Officer Board  
  • Serve as the face of CMA-BA, communicating our mission, offerings, and accomplishments to the local community
  • Advocate for a rewarding volunteer, member and partner experience in the Bay Area
  • Actively engage in fundraising, working closely with National and Chapter Officers to identify, recruit and meet the needs of event partners
  • Oversee the development and approval of chapter budgets
  • Track and evaluate chapter performance, communicating progress on CMA’s program offerings, organizational management and internal infrastructure to the National President and Board of Directors 
  • Set the agenda and preside at all meetings of the Chapter Board
  • Support and participate in CMA-BA events and activities
