About our Speaker:
Mike de Seve is an Emmy-nominated animation writer and director working in both feature films and television. He is Creative Director of Baboon Animation, a collective of some of the most accomplished animation writers in the US, with 22 Emmys among them and credits on many of the world’s most beloved shows.
Under the Baboon banner, Mike has led series development and writing teams for series on some of the biggest names in animation, including Nickelodeon, MTV Animation, Warner Brothers, Disney and DreamWorks Television Animation, as well as for international bigwigs such as France’s Cyber Group Studios and Ellipsanime.
Mike served as both a sequence director and story consultant on Madagascar and as a story consultant on several films including Shrek 2, Over the Hedge, A Shark’s Tale, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Shrek the Third. He was also a director and sequence writer on the feature film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.
In Television, Mike has written and/or directed for Saturday Night Live, Sesame Street, Disney, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and DreamWorks Television Animation, among many others. He’s served as Story Editor/Head Writer on several series, including the record-breaking Angry Birds Toons and Pocoyo series, and the Teletoon/Nick hit, Rocket Monkeys. He’s written on beloved properties from preschool to tween, for clients in 18 different countries, such as Warner Bros.’ Sylvester and Tweety, DreamWorks‘ forthcoming Felix the Cat, the PBS hit Peg + Cat and the forthcoming Disney Jr. series Gigantosaurus. He lives in New York with his wife, daughter and cat.
