Join the CMA and award-winning singer/songwriter Erica Rabner to delve into songwriting! This workshop will be part-discussion and part-songwriting, so get your rhymes ready! Discussion will cover songwriting structure, process, the music business, failures, successes, and anything in between.
About Our Speaker
While you may know Erica Rabner as a formative researcher, she’s also an award-winning singer/songwriter. After completing her master’s at Harvard Graduate School of Education, Erica conducted research for Sesame Workshop and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Her work inspired Erica’s debut kids album “PB & JAMS,” which was recognized as a 2017 Parents’ Choice Recommended Award Winner. Erica has since written and performed 27 songs for Pinna’s new alphabet album: “Mixie’s La-la-la-Letters,” jingles for Kyle’s Wild World, “The Thanksgiving Song” for Sesame Studios, and more. Most recently, Erica’s was recognized as a finalist for the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for her newest project which will be released in 2020.In addition to kids music, Erica released an original soul/pop LP and performs original soul/R&B/jazzy pop music in NYC. You can hear Erica and her five-piece band at Rockwood Music Hall: Stage 2 on Saturday, December 14 at 8:30PM.
