In the final installment of our Mic Check…1,2,3 series, we’ll take a look (or have a listen!) at what goes into creating the finishing touches of sound design for an animated show. Get the full scope from our expert panelists and hear all about their experience as mixers, music producers and sound designers for some of the top children’s programs, including Wonder Pets, The Jo B and G.Raff Show, 3rd & Bird, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, WordWorld, Bubble Guppies, Wallykazam! and more!
More about our speakers:

Jeffrey Lesser (aka – Jet Laser) is a Music Producer, Music Supervisor, Music Director, Music Editor, Sound Designer, Post Production Supervisor, VO Director, Recording Engineer and Mixer in Television, Film, Theater, and on CD. He has received 4 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition. As a music producer and recording engineer, he is proud of the many Gold and Platinum certifications and the Grammy Award Winners.  His credits include:  Barbra Streisand, Lou Reed, The Chieftains, Joni Mitchell, Vince Gill, Sting, Diana Krall, Lyle Lovett, Kristin Chenoweth, Loudon Wainwright III, Jason Robert Brown, Rupert Holmes, The Lord of the Rings (Academy Award winner Best Score) and many others. Jeffrey has also produced the Cast Recordings of Tony Award Winners: “The Bridges of Madison County” and “Parade” plus “Xanadu” “Honeymoon in Vegas” “The Marvelous Wonderettes” “The Rocky Horror Show” “The Last 5 Years” and Jonathan Larson’s “tick, tick…BOOM!”.
Recently for television, he produced the music for the PBS Special: Jason Robert Brown in Concert and music for CBS-TV’s – “Blue Bloods” and BBC-America’s – “Copper”. In addition to “The Wonder Pets!” his work in Children’s Television can be heard on “Small Potatoes” “Domo” “Super Wings” “P. King Duckling” “3rd & Bird” “Sing It Laurie” “Oobi!” and “Go, Baby!”.  He directed Eartha Kitt in her Emmy winning vocal performance, Steven Tyler in his Emmy nominated performance, Ziggy Marley, Idina Menzel, Brooke Shields, Mandy Patinkin, Ben Vereen, Kenan Thompson, Tim Curry and many others. Nathaniel Reichman is a Grammy-nominated mixer and music producer who has worked extensively in television, film, and classical music. His work can be heard on numerous hit children’s television shows including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, WordWorld, Bubble Guppies, and Wallykazam!. In film, he has contributed to Godfrey Reggio’s Naqoyqatsi, Abel Ferrara’s 4:44 Last Day on Earth, and the Showtime documentary Comedy Warriors, among others. He has also worked on major contemporary classical music albums including those of composers John Luther Adams and Philip Glass. Mr. Reichman is a graduate of Bennington College, and an alumnus of the art school Fabrica in Italy.   

Robert Hann is a technically-oriented audio artist with 20 years of professional experience in music composition and audio production. A family background in music and film inspired Rob to investigate the intersection between sound and picture. Being well-versed in the digital and analog realms, Rob holds degrees from both USC’s and NYU’s School of Music. Currently Rob is the Director of Music and Audio at Speakaboos where he is responsible for the production and overseeing of all Speakaboos underscore, songwriting, sound design, voice-over, and product sound. When not at work he enjoys biking, hiking, snowboarding, and improvising music with friends in his Brooklyn recording studio.
