From Chalkboards to Smartboards

Crowdfunding Media & Technology in the Classroom

DonorsChoose.org and Column Five Media present a study of media and technology trends in education, with a focus on crowdfunding. To improve student outcomes, teachers say technology is THE most critical expenditure a school district can make. Yet, many teachers don’t have the technology they need to teach, especially in our country’s highest poverty schools. Explore the data with DonorsChoose.org and ColumnFive and talk through the report. DonorsChoose.org is an online charity platform for American public school educators to crowdfund classroom supplies, field trips, and more. Column Five Media is a content marketing agency that aims to educate, engage, and inspire people through powerful visual storytelling. Their company’s foundation is supported by five “columns” or values: Be good to each other, value our partners, do good work, be humble, and experiment often.
