Our Hosts:

Samantha Freeman has dedicated her 25 year career to developing many successful children’s licenses, brands and businesses.  Currently, Samantha is President of Out of the Blue Enterprises where she oversees television production, finance and operations, digital applications, and consumer products for the company’s portfolio of preschool properties.  Samantha started her career in the toy industry, as a Product Manager for Barbie dolls, fashions and accessories.  After receiving her MBA from Harvard Business School, she went back into the industry she loved, serving as Director of Marketing for Marvel’s action figure business.  From there, she spent the next decade at Nickelodeon, in the Consumer Products division, where she managed licensing activities for all Nick franchises, including Rugrats, Blue’s Clues, Dora the Explorer, and Spongebob. Samantha recently led Out of the Blue’s acquisition of the nostalgic Colorforms brand and is developing the property for a variety of media platforms, including toys and television.  

Alexandra Cassel is Producer at Out of the Blue Enterprises, and Writer on Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. She was formerly the Associate Producer on Super WHY and Writing Coordinator on various series and development projects. She received her M.A. in Developmental Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, and B.A. in Psychology and Media Studies at Colgate University. Alexandra is also our very own Director of Membership for the Children’s Media Association.




Sarah Wallendjack is the Supervising Producer at Out of the Blue Enterprises.  While at Out of the Blue, she has been lucky enough to have worked on Super Why! and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood in addition to other development projects. Prior to joining the Out of the Blue production team, Sarah was the President of the Children’s Media Association, worked on Nickelodeon’s Wonder Pets!, Disney’s Go Baby! and Disney’s Johnny and the Sprites!  She is a graduate of American University’s Visual Media and Arts and Cultural Management programs. She enjoys scuba diving, synchronized swimming, the Muppets, and making things.



Wendy Harris is Executive Producer and VP of Production & Development at Out of the Blue Enterprises.  She is an Emmy nominated producer and writer with extensive industry experience in live action, animation, puppetry, and mixed mediums. She is Co-Creator and Executive Producer of Blue’s Room, Super Why! and Creative Galaxy, Executive Producer of Wishenpoof and Blue’s Clues, was Supervising Producer on Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood as well as written for several of these hit series.  Prior to Kids TV, she worked in live action production on everything from music videos and commercials to feature films.
