Every year the New York International Children’s Film Festival brings amazing content from all over the world to New York! Join CMA for a screening of Next Door Spy. This animated mystery film follows a 10-year-old girl who loves to skateboard and solve crime! After the screening will be a Q+A with the director joining us all the way from Denmark.

About Our Host
Lewis Freeman (Ph.D., Columbia), Senior Lecturer in Fordham University’s Department of Communication and Media Studies, serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Media Association. He has also served on the boards of the New York State Communication Association and the Eastern Communication Association and on the Task Force on Discipline Advancement for the National Communication Association. His achievements include receiving the Urban Communication Foundation prize, the New York State Communication Association Neil Postman Mentor Award, a Time Warner Cable grant on the future of children’s television, two Telly awards, and a book, Sitcom Society: Social Stratification and Social Mobility in Situation Comedy (2008). His chapter, “Symbolic Interactionism: Yogi Berra Stadium and the Minor League Ballpark Experience,” appears in the newly published Communication and the Baseball Stadium: Community, Fandom, Memory, and Commodification (Peter Lang Publishing, 2017).
