Chronicle Books is looking for a Children’s Publishing Designer to help produce some of the most innovative and well-designed titles in the market, by guiding complete projects from conception through manufacture. The Designer will develop appropriate, and marketable solutions, and they will be active members in focused publishing groups with an aim to achieve both creative and financial goals.
Responsibilities:
- Hire outside illustrators, designers, and photographers, and art direct outside creative talent, particularly illustrators
- Collaboration with Editorial, Production, and Marketing teams to prepare Children’s sales materials for Spring and Fall Book Clubs and book fair.
- Design a range of book and non-book publishing across a diverse spectrum of subject areas within the Children’s publishing group, and for other categories, as needed.
- Building, sharing, and voicing expertise as a Designer and as an authority on the publishing category’s consumer, marketplace, trends, and competition will be essential.
