Whitney is a mission-driven children’s media professional who strives to create meaningful, equitable media experiences that inspire and empower our next generation of changemakers.
She has over a decade of experience across early childhood education, content development, and strategy — this includes years of teaching and conducting research in various early childhood settings as well as time with RED Digital Cinema and McGraw Hill. She is currently the Head of Digital Content Solutions at Common Sense Networks, where she works to make a positive impact in the children’s media space through collaborating and partnering with key players, including YouTube and TikTok.
Whitney has a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities and Arts (focus on Film & Media Studies and Video Production) from UC Irvine and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching for Early Childhood and Special Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her studies and research have focused on play-based pedagogies, inclusive curriculum design, and educational media for young learners.
In her spare time, Whitney enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and their two rescue pups, Mabel and Bernstein.
