Tova Volcheck should’ve known she was meant for children’s media after rewatching The
Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland at least seventy-five times on VHS as a 6 year old. Shortly
after, she got involved with Missoula Children’s Theatre while living as a military kid in South
Korea. She went on to study musical theater at Northwestern State University and has
performed in a variety of shows across the US from Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) to
Shakespeare. She originated the role of “The Young Woman” in the world premiere adaptation
of REFUGEE, which included touring with Florida Repertory Theatre for a record breaking
32,000+ children across SWFL. When not performing, Tova has directed musicals for children’s
theater academies, technical directed for summer stock theaters, and taught drama/acting in
after school programs. Tova truly believes in the power of storytelling and how children’s media
and the arts can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. She’s lived in three countries,
eight states, and is currently based out of Brooklyn, NY, attempting to find the best bagel shop in
the city. All recommendations are welcome!
