Renata Townsend

Renata Townsend creates shows and digital content for kids, adults and their families. She believes in the power of storytelling and laughter to strengthen relationships and solidify memory making.

She works in Curriculum at Cartoonito, the preschool programming block of WarnerBros Discovery. As the Assistant Director of Education she oversaw the re-creation of The New Victory Theater lobby spaces, producing interactive screen content. She consults with The World Science Festival on participatory activity design and writes Teacher Resource Guides for Broadway Shows (SIX, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jagged Little Pill, Oklahoma!) and kids podcast platform, Pinna. As a creative producer for Trusty Sidekick Theater Company, she develops new and bold theater for young people. She loves working with kids and artists and can often be found in classrooms as a Teaching Artist. She also adjuncts as a professor at Montclair State University teaching Acting and Children’s Theater.

On the weekends she loves to explore the outdoors with her family and make new recipes with her preschooler.
