Alyson Grubard

It all started when Alyson was offered an internship at Mattel. The internship was followed by over four years in brand management at Mattel/Fisher Price, and kicked off a career in children’s products and media that also including building brands at Simon & Schuster Children’s Books, Kids II and Nickelodeon

At Fisher Price Alyson managed the Disney portfolio of toys, which began her career in children’s media. At Simon & Schuster, she expanded the children’s licensing business, acquiring properties including Olivia, Yo Gabba Gabba and Smurfs. At Kids II Alyson built and executed plans to reintroduce Baby Einstein to today’s parents via distribution, content development and product extensions. Alyson’s love of entertaining children with fun products and content is woven through her professional and personal life. She volunteers at various children’s charities and leads families as a Tinkergarten teacher in local parks.

Currently, Alyson runs No Apologies Consulting, a business she started in 2015, initially to rebuild a sleepaway camp in the Adirondacks. Her business expanded to other camps and small business where she helps business owners realize their marketable truths, and how to communicate those strengths with omni-channel marketing and strategic planning.

Alyson holds an MBA from USC’s Marshall School where she focused on marketing and entrepreneurship while leading student government. Her undergraduate degree is from Bentley University. Alyson credits Free To Be You & Me, by Marlo Thomas & Friends as her first and most important early learning. This property shaped her values, her career and taught her the importance of children’s media. Alyson is excited to join CMA’s NY Chapter Board as President.
